Impact Resistance

Impact resistance is the ability of a material to withstand a high force or shock applied to it over a short period of time. A high force over a short time has a greater effect than a weaker force over a longer period of time. The impact is also proportionate to the relative velocity of the colliding materials.

Toxicity Element in Buttons

The Toxic Element Clearance Profile is a toxic exposure test which measures urinary excretion of a diverse range of potentially harmful elements. Both well-known toxics such as lead and mercury, and new technology toxins such as niobium are assessed in this toxic element test.

Pull Strength Test

One method of determining the strength of a button is through pull strength. Pull strength is a reliable method of measuring the maximum strength, or holding power, that a button has before it is separated from ferrous material.

Dry Strength Test

The dry strength test is done only on the material passing the No. 40 sieve. This test as well as the roll test and the ribbon test, is used to measure the cohesive and plastic characteristics of the soil.

Impact Test

The impact test, is a standardized high strain-rate test which determines the amount of energy absorbed by a material during fracture.

Scorching Heat Test

This standard shall be used to measure and describe the response of materials, products, or assemblies to heat and flame under controlled laboratory conditions and shall not be used to describe or appraise the fire hazard or fire risk of materials, products, or assemblies under actual fire conditions.

Color Fastness to Light

The purpose of Color fastness to light test is to determine how much the color will fade when exposed to a known light source. It is an off line quality assurance system.

Attachment / Pull Strength
